OH HAI G00D 2 C U

hi. so it's been a little while, how've you been? so, about these post-it portraits. they haven't exactly been an everyday kind of thing like i'd said they'd be. but i'm working on that. so, here we have a few more good pics of good folks. a couple of these are messier than the others (sorry taylor), mostly because my old pens were slowly exploding. but, i got me some fresh ones, so that means more portraits are coming, and they're gonna be more better! JINKIES!

the hippest threads around

say friend, do you need new duds? do you like recycled clothing? are you hip? well come on down to BRECONSTRUCTED CLOTHING! this (the purple one) was the second set of tags i did for a friend of mine's line of clothes she makes here in richmond (the yellow one was the first set; kind of a big difference, yeah?). she always lets me do what i want, so these are always fun to do. hopefully they do the trick, and sell many many clothings for her, so she can make the moneys. CAPITALISM WOW.

MY HOW YOU'VE GROWN
it's been a while, hasn't it? so, a while back, i posted some sketches from a comic i was working on with a friend of mine, and i actually managed to finish a page (all by myself!). i'm doing the drawings, and she's doing the writings. i'm gonna try and do these more regularly, so check back and keep up with the story as it progresses. this should be fun.

WE WILL BUILD HEROES...out of construction paper
well, this was an interesting one. this was for a review of a show i went to with a friend of mine. the review turned out fine, and i was psyched to get to the illustrating (aka fun part), and i was mostly excited to try out this idea i'd had for a while of building up an image in layers using construction paper cut-outs. it was a fun idea, and i think someday i might try it again, but i'll admit i was a bit underwhelmed with the end result. meh, you live and learn and all that. i was originally planning on doing 4 more of these, featuring the opening acts too, but goddamn doing pictures this way takes a long time (just ask any kindergartner). oh well. next time, protomen.

things to do volume two: the rhyming

time for more post-it portraits, ya'll. so, a big point of these was experimenting, and me teaching myself the language of inking and how to use different techniques for different purposes. i've been learning, but not as much as i'd like, so look for these to start getting weirder as i try new stuff out. weirder, and probably bad (sorry nester; i'll try yours again, promise). BUT HEY THAT'S CALLED LEARNING RIGHT? RIGHT. here we have a few more of my friends, plus a mayan. can you figure out which is which?
